Career Opportunities Early Start Team Rockhampton

Current positions with BUSHkids Early Start Team - Rockhampton service area

BUSHkids is looking for a team who will work as part of a transdisciplinary team in a key worker model providing services to families with children aged 0-6 years with developmental delay or disability.

We are currently recruiting for the following positions for our Early Start Team in Rockhampton area, in conjunction with our partnership with NDIS.

 

Speech Language Pathologists in (ECEI) Rockhampton, Emerald, Gladstone and Bundaberg

Full and part-time positions available.

Salary range: $62,831 - $82,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience

In the role of an ECEI Speech Language Pathologist at BUSHkids you will have the opportunity to:

  • Be responsible for assessment, planning, delivery, evaluation and continuous improvement related to the provision of the scope of the incumbent’s discipline.
  • Develop goals and plans with every client inclusive of other team members involved in the care and management of that client in accordance with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) approach
  • Provide care when and where it best meets the clients’ needs including on site, at home and in the community.

Mandatory requirements for this role:

  • Tertiary qualifications in relevant field; plus significant relevant professional experience.
  • Registration and/or memberships relevant to qualification.

Desirable Qualities:

  • Experience in working in early childhood education, intervention or other relevant work experience

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Clinical Practice

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in working with children with developmental delay or disability with a focus on early intervention and family centred practice

Communication/Team Participation 

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills necessary for good working relationships and client care
  • Demonstrated ability to function as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.

Leadership/Work Unit Management

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing personal and professional development and ability to share knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without close supervision and to appropriately manage time and workload

Early Intervention Facilitators in (ECEI) Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald and Biloela

Full and part-time positions available.

Salary is $55,039 – $64,414 dependent upon qualifications and experience.

In the role of an Early Intervention Facilitator at BUSHkids you will have the opportunity to:

  • Provide support, and under the direction of the Coordinator – intervention, for families with children aged 0-6 years with developmental delay or disability.
  • Provide care when and where it best meets the clients’ needs including on site, at home and in the community

Mandatory Requirements

  • A practical, can-do attitude and a passion for children, families and the community
  • Excellent inter-personal skills and ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience working with children and families
  • Understanding of the NDIS, choice and control and the principles of person centred care

Desired requirement for this role:

  • Experience in working in early childhood education, intervention or other relevant work experience and/or qualifications.

Other requirements:

  • Working with Children Blue Card – Positive Notice
  • Current C Class Queensland Drivers Licence
  • Proof of Hepatitis B Vaccination status

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA

Professional Practice 

  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in early intervention and prevention services for families and young children including parenting
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skills in working with vulnerable families who may experience multiple barriers to accessing services 

Communication/Team Participation 

  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills necessary to work effectively in a local community to provide high quality services
  • Demonstrated ability to develop professional networks and work collaboratively with other service providers 

Leadership/Work Unit Management 

  • Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development and ability to share knowledge and skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently without close supervision and to appropriately manage time and workload
