National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) – National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Early Childhood Approach Services

BUSHkids is a chosen NDIS Partner in the Community delivering Early Childhood Approach (ECA) services to children living around Emerald, Gladstone and Rockhampton in the Central Highlands and Bundaberg, Gympie, Hervey Bay, Kingaroy, Caloundra and Maroochydore in the Fraser Coast and Sunshine Coast areas.  The ECA program is fully funded by NDIA, the federal agency responsible for delivering the NDIS. ECA services are designed to help children  younger than 6 with developmental delays or children younger than 9 with disability access the supports and services they and their families need to achieve better long-term outcomes. As an Early Childhood Partner, BUSHkids supports families of children with developmental delay and provides the support needed to improve the child’s development. Where a child requires more intensive early intervention supports, BUSHkids staff work with the family to develop an NDIS plan to access the support funding the child needs on a more long-term basis.

Department of Social Services – Children and Parenting Support

Department of Health

BUSHkids receives funding from the Department of Health under a contractual arrangement to provide child and family therapy services, for children up to 13 years of age living in Bundaberg, Dalby and Warwick.

Department of Education and Training

BUSHkids receives funding through a service agreement with the Department of Education and Training, to meet stakeholder needs by providing targeted individual and group assessments, intervention, advise and support for students who are at risk of poor educational outcomes living in and around Emerald and Mount Isa, and to provide targeted education sessions for student support teams as identified in collaboration with local school communities.

The John Villiers Trust Funding

The John Villiers Trust (JVT), a Melbourne-based organisation that represents the perpetual interests of central Queensland rural property owner and cattleman Mr John Villiers, who passed away in 2002. Thanks to a very generous grant of $500,000 from the Trust to our organisation, we were able to relocate and build our new Warwick Centre, which has made a vital difference to the urgent needs of children and families across the Southern Downs.

The JVT Chairman of Trustees, Mr Darvell Hutchinson AM, acknowledged a strong legacy of charitable interests by Mr Villiers, who had expressed ‘particular regard’ in his Will for the work of BUSHkids.

Perpetual Managed Trust Funding

The support is funded by the following and managed by Perpetual:

  • Felix & Isabel Clewett
  • Dorothy Melrose Jackson
